Director of Behavioral Health Services

About the role

Northwest Human Services is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health Services to lead and expand its mental health and crisis care programs across Marion and Polk counties. This senior position reports to the Clinic Director and oversees outpatient counseling, primary‑care integration, and a 24/7 crisis hotline.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate behavioral health services into primary care to provide early intervention.
• Provide decisive leadership for the 24/7 crisis hotline and outpatient programs.
• Use data and performance metrics to improve quality, close service gaps, and strengthen operations each quarter.
• Coach and mentor multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with behavioral health regulations, billing procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Licensed behavioral health professional with extensive operational leadership experience.
• Proven track record managing outpatient mental health services, primary‑care integration, and crisis programs.
• Strong clinical judgment, data‑driven decision making, and ability to lead through complexity.
• Excellent collaboration skills across disciplines and a people‑centered leadership style.
