Director, Institutional Giving, Foundations & Grants

About the role

The Partnership for a Healthier America seeks an experienced fundraising professional to lead and expand its foundation and grants portfolio, a key revenue engine supporting its mission of equitable access to nutritious food.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow a multimillion‑dollar institutional funding portfolio, targeting $3M+ in annual revenue across the full grant lifecycle.
• Develop and execute a year‑round grants strategy that diversifies funding sources and builds a multi‑year pipeline of foundation and government partners.
• Write, edit, and manage data‑backed grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports.
• Collaborate with program, impact, and marketing teams to align proposals with program design and secure required metrics.
• Oversee grants management, compliance, reporting, and expenditure tracking in partnership with Finance.
• Supervise and develop the Development Coordinator, managing prospect research, grants calendar, and CRM.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of nonprofit development experience with a proven record of securing five‑ and six‑figure grants.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Exceptional grant writing and editing ability, translating complex program impact into compelling narratives.
• Strong presentation skills and experience building diversified institutional funding pipelines.
• Experience supervising or mentoring staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM/donor databases; Salesforce preferred.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000‑$110,000, commensurate with experience.
