About the role

The Director, Federal Contracts Consulting will lead a high‑demand GovCon advisory practice, overseeing a $4M‑$5M federal contracts consulting book and a team of 10‑15 experts. This senior leadership position blends hands‑on contract execution with business‑building responsibilities, shaping how services are packaged, priced, and delivered for defense‑focused clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day strategy, operational accountability, and revenue planning for a 10‑15 person contracts team.
• Lead complex client engagements, advising prime contractors on FAR and DFARS interpretation, execution, and risk management.
• Drive process improvements to transition the practice from bespoke delivery to repeatable, productized service offerings.
• Coach, develop, and manage consultants and junior staff, setting clear expectations for quality, utilization, and commercial performance.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of full‑lifecycle government contracts experience, preferably in defense‑oriented GovCon environments.
• Deep working knowledge of FAR and DFARS with proven ability to apply contract clauses in real‑world settings.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing delivery outcomes, and overseeing a multi‑million‑dollar book of business.
• Comfort operating in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments while maintaining commercial discipline.
