Director, Business Development

About the role

Cardless is a Series C fintech that enables leading brands to launch and manage credit‑card programs. The Director of Business Development will own the top of the commercial funnel, identifying high‑value prospects, building senior‑level relationships, and driving negotiations to signed term sheets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize target brands using market data, competitive intelligence and personal networks to build a high‑quality prospect pipeline.
• Develop and nurture relationships with senior decision‑makers over the multi‑month enterprise sales cycle.
• Represent Cardless to executives, consulting firms and RFP committees, ensuring the company’s value proposition is clearly communicated.
• Manage the end‑to‑end business development process, including accurate forecasting, CRM upkeep and regular pipeline reporting.
• Collaborate with product, marketing and partnership teams to align demos, materials and pricing with market needs.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of business development or partnership experience, preferably within financial services, banking, card issuing or payments.
• Proven track record of closing complex, multi‑stakeholder enterprise deals from prospecting to signature.
• Established network of senior contacts in consumer brands, financial institutions, loyalty programs or consulting firms.
• Experience navigating formal RFP processes for financial‑services technology is a strong plus.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize a large pipeline and communicate persuasively with C‑level executives.
