Direct Support Professional (PRN – As Needed)

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides health and safety oversight for residents with developmental disabilities. Working on an as‑needed (PRN) basis, the DSP follows Individual Support Plans to assist adults with daily living activities and skill‑building tasks. This role offers valuable experience in human services within Cornerstone Support Services’ mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide supervision and guidance for residents during skill‑building activities.
• Implement individual support plans for residents.
• Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and personal hygiene.
• Develop rapport with residents and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship.
• Update resident case notes on a daily basis.
• Ensure an appropriate staff‑to‑client ratio at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate about the care and well‑being of others.
