Direct Support Professional – Non‑Driving (Sat‑Wed 3‑11 PM)

About the role

WellLife Network is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities in New York. In this non‑driving position you will work evenings from Saturday to Wednesday, providing personal care, health support, and community engagement to help clients live independently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Prepare meals, perform household chores, and maintain a safe living environment.
• Administer medications, support medical appointments, and follow treatment plans.
• Help with mobility, including transfers, walking, and use of mobility aids.
• Implement respectful behavioral strategies and provide emotional encouragement.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Facilitate communication using tools or techniques and advocate for client rights.
• Document daily notes, progress reports, incident reports, and other required records in electronic systems.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Fluent English for client communication.
• Valid New York State driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Patience, compassion, and dedication to empowering individuals.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred.
