Direct Support Professional

About the role

Developing Potential, Inc. is seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals to work Monday‑Friday day shifts in Independence. The position offers a sign‑on bonus, paid training and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Teach individualized socialization and living skills to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Develop and implement daily programs focused on independent living, self‑advocacy and community integration.
• Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, meals, ROM, sensory support and Hoyer lift operation.
• Document all activities and progress using the company’s computer system.
• Facilitate community volunteer activities and on‑site program events.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and reliable vehicle.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Stable work history.
• Preference for CNA certification (optional).

Required skills

• Experience with the Therap software system.
• Proficiency in operating Hoyer lifts.
