Digital & Social Media Coordinator

About the role

The Digital & Social Media Coordinator will shape and deliver editorial and multimedia content across the New York Islanders’ website, mobile app, and social channels. Reporting to the Digital Director, you will bring fans closer to the game, the locker room, and the community through compelling storytelling.

Key responsibilities

• Write, edit, and publish game recaps, player features, news stories, and community spotlights.
• Create and schedule social media content for Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and TikTok.
• Produce photography, videography, and short‑form video for “social‑first” distribution.
• Research and propose new social trends, pop‑culture references, and buzzworthy content ideas.
• Assist with live event and game coverage, delivering real‑time updates on digital platforms.
• Upload and manage content on the team’s website and mobile app using NHL CMS tools, ensuring proper formatting, tagging, and placement.
• Write SEO‑ and AEO‑friendly headlines, subheads, and metadata to maximize search visibility.

Required profile

• Passion for sports journalism and digital media.
• Experience in multimedia storytelling and social media publishing.
• Strong editorial judgment and ability to work with multiple departments.
