Digital Literacy Instructor

About the role

Digital Literacy Instructor – Do you enjoy teaching others to use computers? Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island seeks a passionate instructor to deliver in‑person and online computer literacy classes to adult learners, evaluate progress and support technology programs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver digital literacy lessons for ESL learners, covering typing, internet navigation, file organization, email, online safety and cybersecurity.
• Incorporate the NorthStar Digital Literacy Curriculum, prepare and proctor assessments.
• Guide learners in job‑search tools, resume writing and online applications, integrating language development with digital skills.
• Provide individualized and group instruction, monitor student progress, assess outcomes and give constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues and community organizations to enhance learning opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Prior experience teaching computer literacy.
• Experience working with English language learners or diverse populations.
• Familiarity with educational software and remote/online learning platforms.
