Digital Assets Compliance Specialist

About the role

Column is building a technology‑forward banking platform and needs a specialist to define, build, and operate its compliance framework for crypto products. You will work closely with product, engineering, and risk teams to create systems that protect the bank while enabling innovation in stablecoin and crypto‑enabled banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate AML/BSA monitoring for stablecoin and crypto payment products in line with the GENIUS Act and Bank Secrecy Act.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive sanctions compliance program, including blockchain analytics and wallet screening.
• Expand suspicious activity monitoring and sanctions screening tools to incorporate digital‑asset‑specific workflows.
• Design, test, and tune new blockchain monitoring rules and own monthly metric reporting on stablecoin activity.
• Provide AML guidance to product and engineering teams, translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications, and conduct compliance reviews of new features.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years in financial‑crimes compliance with at least 3 years focused on digital assets, crypto, or blockchain.
• Expert knowledge of BSA/AML requirements as they apply to digital assets.
• Strong understanding of stablecoin mechanics, blockchain technology, and crypto payment flows.
• First‑principles thinker able to design robust compliance systems from scratch.
• High emotional intelligence and stakeholder‑management skills for building trust with regulators and internal teams.
