Diesel Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain, repair and troubleshoot diesel engines and related systems on our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). The role ensures optimal performance and reliability of maritime propulsion equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements and fluid checks on diesel engines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools, technical manuals and schematics.
• Inspect, test and overhaul engine components, including fuel injection systems, turbochargers and exhaust systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts usage and labor hours to comply with schedules and regulations.
• Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and fluids.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and vessel operators to resolve complex issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and schematics.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

• Volvo VODIA engine experience (preferred)
