Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time, Norwalk, OH

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join its Norwalk, OH Service Center. The role involves maintaining a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers and related equipment, ensuring reliable operation through preventive maintenance and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines, Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and perform welding as needed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in diesel engine maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to handle major repairs, work with AC and electrical systems, and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Diesel engine repair and preventive maintenance.
• AC and electrical system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
• Proficiency in Cetaris work‑order system.
• Class A CDL and Class 8 truck operation.
• Trailer maintenance and repair.
