Developer - Mobile Applications

About the role

The Mobile Applications Developer will work closely with United Airlines' eCommerce and IT teams to design, build, and maintain the customer‑facing mobile app for iOS and Android. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from concept through release and ongoing support, using the latest mobile technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define app requirements and architecture.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Compose) applications.
• Manage source control, bug‑tracking, unit and functional testing, and ensure code quality.
• Research emerging mobile technologies and recommend third‑party solutions.
• Implement security best practices, monitoring, and incident‑management processes.
• Support deployment to app stores and maintain production reliability using AWS, DevOps, and disaster‑recovery tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of native iOS and/or Android development (preference for Android).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; able to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) programming.
• .NET fundamentals.
• Compose for Android and SwiftUI for iOS.
• AWS cloud services and DevOps practices.
• Source control (e.g., Git) and bug‑tracking systems.
• Security code best practices and monitoring setup.
