Desktop Support Technician I

About the role

Newrez is seeking an entry‑level Desktop Support Technician I to provide direct end‑user assistance both remotely and on‑site. You will help maintain a reliable technology environment for our mortgage borrowers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware and software requests, propose solutions that meet business standards.
• Configure new devices, address virus alerts, install and patch software, and perform system tests.
• Provide direct user support, restore services, deliver basic training, and coordinate warranty repairs.
• Install, support, and retire desktops, laptops, thin clients, monitors, mobile devices, and printers.
• Wipe data securely before device disposal or re‑issue.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and recommend process improvements.
• Assist with facility moves and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

Required skills

• Hardware installation and configuration (desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers, mobile devices).
• Software installation, patch management, and basic troubleshooting.
• Virus/malware remediation.
• Data wiping and secure disposal.
• Remote and on‑site user support tools.
