Designer III

About the role

We are seeking a Designer III to join our engineering team responsible for designing custom fire‑rescue vehicles. The role involves creating structural designs, developing specifications, and collaborating with manufacturing to deliver robust, high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop moderate‑complexity products and components using CAD/CAE software.
• Create and review material part specifications and bills of materials.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and validate designs through calculations and analytical tools.
• Apply DFM methodologies and understand metal fabrication processes to ensure manufacturability.
• Fulfill customer shop orders while adhering to design rules and interface requirements.
• Define test requirements, interpret results, and validate designs.
• Identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
• Apply lean principles to improve manufacturing and business processes.
• Execute engineering changes following established documentation procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in structural or product design for industrial vehicles or similar equipment.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on project teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Proficiency with CAE software.
• Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques.
• Structural analysis and engineering calculations.
• Creation of bills of materials (BOM).
