Design Engineering Specialist – Production Integration

About the role

Fox Factory is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist to lead vehicle program launches within the Production Integration segment. The role bridges product design and mass production, ensuring designs are manufacturable and prototypes are built efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage program launch initiatives from design hand‑off through to mass production.
• Perform design for manufacturability, modify existing parts, and create 3D models for jigs, templates, and components.
• Operate and maintain 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and related development assets.
• Build prototype vehicles and prepare manufacturing documentation, including first‑article feedback and assembly prints.
• Develop test procedures, support continuous‑improvement projects, and manage up to five programs concurrently.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production, Quality and other departments to report project status.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background with an eye for aesthetics and functional design.
• Ability to work on multiple programs simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
• Experience documenting manufacturing processes and communicating with suppliers.

Required skills

• 3D modeling for parts, jigs and templates.
• Operation of CNC machines, laser cutters and 3D printers.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Drafting according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Prototype vehicle assembly.
• Manufacturing documentation and first‑article inspection.
• Test procedure development.
