Design Assistant (Entry-Level)

About the role

We are seeking a creative and organized Design Assistant to support our Principal/Design Director in a fast‑moving, design‑driven studio that creates luxury custom rugs for high‑end residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. This entry‑level, on‑site position offers hands‑on experience across the full design process, from concept development to production and client presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mood boards, sketches, color palettes and visual research to support rug design concepts.
• Create and maintain technical design files, production specifications and digital mock‑ups for client‑facing presentations.
• Coordinate with the production department to streamline the workflow from design to execution.
• Assist with product photography, photo editing and the creation of marketing assets.
• Organise and manage the digital asset library and design archives.
• Collaborate with production, sales and marketing teams on project initiatives.
• Provide occasional front‑of‑house and administrative support, including greeting clients and handling phone calls.

Required profile

• 0–2 years of design experience or a recent graduate in interior design, product design or a related field.
• Strong visual eye with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to pitch in across the studio.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in creating mood boards, sketches and color palettes.
• Experience with digital mock‑up creation and visual presentation preparation.
• Basic knowledge of product photography and photo editing techniques.
• Familiarity with managing digital asset libraries.
