Defense Contracts Manager

About the role

AVTECH Global is seeking an experienced Defense Contracts Manager to lead Department of Defense contracting efforts, from opportunity identification through proposal development, award, and full lifecycle compliance management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, DIBBS and other sources to identify DoD contract opportunities and assess fit.
• Lead end‑to‑end proposal development, ensuring technical, staffing, past performance and cost volumes meet solicitation requirements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including negotiations, modifications, options, compliance with FAR/DFARS, and audit documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, finance and leadership on contractual obligations, pricing strategy and risk exposure.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Contracts Management, Supply Chain or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of DoD/federal government contracts management experience.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS and DoD acquisition processes.
• Proven ability to write and manage competitive federal proposals.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAM.gov and GSA eBuy.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Experience with contract types such as IDIQ, FFP, CPFF, T&M.
