About the role

The Dealer Commercial Services Underwriter evaluates and manages credit risk for dealership financing, including floorplan, revolving, term, and real‑estate loans. Working within Santander’s automotive finance division, the role supports a customer‑centric transformation by delivering accurate credit proposals and monitoring portfolio performance.

Key responsibilities

• Independently underwrite, structure and prepare clear credit proposals, renewals and modifications for dealer financing.
• Analyze complex financial statements, cash flow, business history and collateral for automotive dealerships.
• Manage the end‑to‑end underwriting process for new business, annual renewals and loan modifications.
• Monitor assigned portfolio performance, reviewing up‑to‑date financial information and risk indicators.
• Respond to loan inquiries with well‑supported credit recommendations.
• Collaborate with customers and internal partners to gather required data and clarify financial considerations.
• Handle multiple underwriting assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Proactively manage past‑due and upcoming loan maturities to support portfolio quality and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, credit structuring and commercial underwriting.
• Experience managing commercial loan portfolios is preferred.
