Day Shift Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to join its Meridian, MS campus. The position is a day‑shift, full‑time role in a 24‑bed Emergency Department serving a broad community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver emergency care to a diverse patient population in a Level 3 Trauma Center handling over 28,000 annual visits.
• Work 12‑hour day shifts with flexible scheduling and provide coverage alongside nurse practitioners.
• Utilize the Patient Flow Center to coordinate transfers and ensure efficient patient movement.
• Employ bedside ultrasound technology and document care using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with multi‑specialty teams, including hospitalists and intensivists, for comprehensive patient management.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Willingness to work full‑time 12‑hour day shifts in an onsite emergency department.

Required skills

• Proficiency with bedside ultrasound.
• Experience using EPIC EMR.
