Data Scientist – Commercial Strategy

About the role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Commercial Strategy team at Walt Disney World. In this individual‑contributor role you will apply quantitative techniques to uncover insights that drive merchandise and food‑and‑beverage pricing, revenue management and overall guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Transform business questions into curated datasets and maintain data pipelines.
• Develop and deploy statistical models, hypothesis tests, clustering and regression analyses to support pricing and revenue decisions.
• Translate model outputs into clear visualisations and actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Research and implement new analytical tools and technologies to improve existing workflows.
• Collaborate with data engineering, product and business partners to automate analyses and enhance data platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics).
• At least 1 year of experience presenting quantitative findings to non‑technical audiences.
• Understanding of micro‑economics concepts such as elasticity.
• Familiarity with automated deployment and cloud environments.

Required skills

• Programming in Python or R.
• SQL and relational database experience.
• Data‑science platforms: Snowflake, Amazon SageMaker, Dataiku.
• Data‑visualisation tools: Tableau, Plotly.
• Cloud and container technologies: AWS, Docker.
