Data Center Technician

About the role

As a Data Center Technician you will perform setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of servers, storage and network equipment in a secure, high‑availability environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform weekly sweeps of server and storage equipment, collect IPMI‑SEL data and vendor logs, and diagnose hardware and network connectivity issues.
• Open and manage support cases with vendors (HPE, Dell, IX, etc.) and coordinate break‑and‑fix activities, including escorting contractors.
• Handle RMA processes for rPDUs, switches and field‑replaceable units, and support installations, moves, additions and changes.
• Decommission IT equipment, conduct physical inspections, manage inventory counts and update structured‑cabling documentation.
• Monitor capacity (space, power, cooling, patch panel ports) and follow incident and change management procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in an enterprise data‑center environment.
• CCNA and CCNP certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25 %.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• CCNA and CCNP networking knowledge.
• Server hardware troubleshooting for major vendors (HPE, Dell, IX).
• Ethernet RJ45 and LC/MPO fiber connectivity testing.
• IPMI‑SEL data analysis and vendor‑specific platform log interpretation.
• Data cabling, structured cabling documentation and patch panel management.
• Inventory and capacity management (space, power, cooling).
