Data Center Operations Lead – Partner Site Operations

About the role

Anthropic’s Data Center Operations (DCO) team ensures compute fleet availability. The Data Center Operations Lead – Partner Site Operations acts as the interface between Anthropic and its strategic site‑operations partner, overseeing day‑to‑day data hall activities at partner‑operated sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own site availability, deployment milestones, and repair turnaround, verified with independent data.
• Set daily and weekly priorities for the vendor and lead the operating cadence, including stand‑ups and business reviews.
• Author and improve procedures for deployment, break‑fix, change management, security, and EHS compliance.
• Track vendor performance against SLAs and staffing commitments, driving corrective actions.
• Participate in incident escalation on‑call rotation and act as Anthropic Incident Commander when required.
• Translate engineering requirements into vendor direction and communicate site constraints to leadership.
• Lead weekly operations reviews and scorecards with vendor site leads.
• Direct deployment surges to meet first‑compute‑online milestones.
• Analyze failure patterns, create break‑fix ownership matrices, and establish operational readiness for new data halls.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data center operations or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and drive operational outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement improvements.
• Experience leading incident response and on‑call rotations.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into clear operational directives.
