Cybersecurity Identity Architect

About the role

3M is looking for a strategic Cybersecurity Identity Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. You will shape the identity governance, authentication, authorization, and privileged access landscape across cloud and on‑premise environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable IAM solutions, including SSO, MFA, identity federation, IDV, IGA, and privileged access management.
• Develop and maintain identity architecture blueprints, standards, and roadmaps.
• Translate security requirements into technical designs in collaboration with engineering, compliance, and business teams.
• Partner with detection and response teams to integrate IAM into ITDR services and broader cybersecurity tooling.
• Lead technical evaluations of IAM platforms and oversee their integration.
• Ensure solutions follow zero‑trust principles, data‑protection policies, and frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and GDPR.
• Provide technical leadership during incident response and identity‑related threat mitigation.
• Stay current on emerging IAM technologies, including passwordless authentication and AI‑driven access decisions.
• Manage vendor relationships and define KPIs to measure IAM program effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in enterprise identity management within private, public, government, or military environments.
• Proven ability to design and implement large‑scale IAM solutions and influence cross‑functional teams.
