Cybersecurity Analyst 2 – Intelligence Analyst 1

About the role

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness is hiring a full‑time Cybersecurity Analyst 2, also classified as Intelligence Analyst 1, to join the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC). The analyst will protect state and partner networks, systems, applications, and data from evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, detect, and respond to cyber events affecting organizational and partner networks.
• Conduct incident response, root‑cause investigations, and forensic analysis of digital evidence.
• Plan, design, implement, and operate specialized cybersecurity tools and technologies.
• Collect, process, and analyze security‑related data to improve detection, response, and prevention.
• Provide cybersecurity intelligence and operational support to state and local government entities.
• Collaborate with public and private sector partners to stay informed on emerging threats and best practices.

Required profile

• At‑least a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Eligibility to obtain any required security clearances.
