Customer Development Manager – Retail (New York)

About the role
The Customer Development Manager (CDM) will drive Lavazza’s growth in a defined retail channel, partnering with Sales, Revenue Management and Marketing. Based in New York, the role blends strategic planning, category leadership and close customer partnership to deliver profitable results.
Key responsibilities
- Own the customer planning calendar and align internal milestones with joint business planning cycles.
- Develop and present annual selling stories and strategic presentations for customer meetings.
- Conduct monthly Customer Business Reviews and quarterly/bi‑annual revenue reviews to support long‑term planning.
- Co‑manage customer P&L in partnership with Revenue Management, Sales and Finance, using TPM and Salesforce as planning tools.
- Lead 4P (product, price, placement, promotion) management at the customer level, coordinating with sales, marketing, broker partners and cross‑functional teams.
- Run monthly category and assortment reviews to identify gaps, opportunities and corrective actions.
Required profile
- Commercially minded CPG professional with proven experience in retail channel development.
- Strong analytical ability to translate data into compelling commercial narratives.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with a track record of trusted customer partnerships.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and execute promotional calendars and launch events with precision.

What we offer
- Base salary $125,000‑$130,000 per year.
- Annual incentive plan of 20% of base.
