Custodial Worker

About the role

The Custodial Worker ensures that university office buildings, laboratories, conference rooms, common areas and surrounding grounds are clean, safe and well‑maintained. This full‑time position supports the Division of Agriculture’s facilities by performing routine cleaning and seasonal outdoor tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Vacuum, mop, sweep and dust interior spaces including offices, labs and conference rooms.
• Empty small and large trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to campus policies.
• Operate carpet and floor cleaning equipment to maintain flooring surfaces.
• Clean restrooms, sinks, water fountains and other fixtures.
• Maintain exterior areas by removing litter and performing snow/ice removal during winter months.
• Follow health, safety and environmental guidelines while performing duties.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a regular, defined schedule.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Operation of carpet cleaning equipment.
• Operation of floor cleaning equipment.
