Culinary Assistant Project Manager

About the role

The Culinary Assistant Project Manager supports the overall culinary team and enhances the customer experience for events at Cotton. This role blends back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house expertise, ensuring smooth event execution from planning through cleanup.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review event information from the Project Manager and conduct site walks when needed.
• Prepare load lists, verify ingredient availability, and cross‑check rentals, staffing, and third‑party vendors 48 hours before each event.
• Train kitchen staff and temporary labor, review load sheets, and lead pre‑event huddles.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during events when the Business Development lead is absent.
• Oversee event staff, manage timelines, and coordinate food and beverage preparation and service.
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, food stations, and guest areas; supervise breakdown, cleanup, and final walk‑through.
• Submit accurate post‑event reports and coordinate asset returns with the Asset Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or culinary degree preferred; college degree is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 3 years of chef experience or 5 years of heavy kitchen operational management experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 60 days and flexibility to work outside regular hours.
