About the role
The State of Georgia’s Office of the Attorney General is seeking two Criminal Investigators to join the Medicaid Fraud Division. In this full‑time, day‑shift position you will lead and support investigations into health‑care fraud and patient abuse, protecting Georgia’s Medicaid program and its beneficiaries.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct on‑site investigations of Medicaid fraud and patient abuse cases.
- Assist analysts, auditors, and prosecutors by gathering documentation, interviewing witnesses, and collecting intelligence.
- Plan and execute search warrants, secure evidence, and maintain chain‑of‑custody procedures.
- Develop and use investigative software tools and databases to analyze billing records, medical records, and other relevant data.
- Prepare charts, schedules, and presentations to support prosecution efforts.
- Respond promptly to assignment requests and provide timely investigative reports.
- Carry and, when authorized, use a firearm or less‑lethal equipment such as pepper spray.
Required profile
- Current proof of POST certification.
- Ability to obtain and responsibly use a state‑issued firearm or less‑lethal equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and testimony.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel throughout Georgia as investigations require.
Required skills
- Proficiency with investigative computer software and database management.
- Knowledge of health‑care billing practices and Medicaid regulations.
