Correspondent Banking Compliance

About the role

Column is building a technology‑forward banking platform and needs a senior professional to lead its correspondent banking compliance function as the company expands globally. You will own the end‑to‑end onboarding, monitoring and risk assessment of correspondent bank partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive onboarding framework for correspondent banks worldwide, including country‑specific risk assessments and rule creation.
• Lead the diligence process for new jurisdictions and manage periodic reviews of existing partner banks.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, GTM and product teams to define ongoing monitoring expectations, trigger events and escalation criteria.
• Support business development by evaluating prospective banks, educating prospects on Column’s risk approach, and creating customer‑facing documentation.
• Coordinate product rollouts across regions, providing clear guardrails and discovery guidance to streamline customer engagement.

Required profile

• 6‑8+ years of regulatory, compliance or risk‑management experience, preferably with international financial activity.
• Proven ability to build operational policies, procedures and workflows.
• Strong familiarity with underwriting geographic and political risks.
• Exceptional written communication skills for detailed documentation across diverse stakeholders.
• Highly organized project‑management style, comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including monthly trips to the San Francisco office and international visits to client banks.
