Corporate Controller

About the role

Wilder Systems is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and manage the monthly close in Austin. This hands‑on leadership position will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Develop and monitor the annual budget, perform variance analysis, and report results to management and the board.
• Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and ensure timely transaction recording.
• Lead the annual external audit, prepare PBC schedules, and resolve auditor inquiries.
• Design, document, and enforce internal controls over financial reporting.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, sales/use tax, and support income‑tax filings.
• Partner with department leaders on budget‑versus‑actual reporting and drive process improvements.
• Support special projects such as technical accounting research and ERP implementations.
• Manage and develop the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public‑accounting audit work.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Proven track record of leading full month‑end closes.
• Excellent communication skills with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
