Core Banking System Architect - Director

About the role

PWC is seeking a senior leader to shape and deliver core banking technology strategies for major financial institutions. As a Core Banking Systems Architect at the Director level, you will guide the design, integration and evolution of banking platforms, ensuring they align with business goals and deliver scalable, efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of core banking systems, defining standards and guiding technology decisions.
• Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategy into technical road‑maps and frameworks.
• Assess existing technology landscapes, identify gaps, and propose scalable, interoperable solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior architects and technical teams across the firm.
• Promote best practices in data flow, integration, and platform security.
• Drive thought leadership and innovation within the banking technology domain.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven ability to align technology initiatives with business strategy and deliver large‑scale transformation programs.
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders and convey complex technical concepts.
• Leadership experience at senior or director level, with a track record of mentoring teams.
