About the role

The Center for Global Sustainability at the University of Maryland seeks a Financial Services Coordinator to support its sponsored research portfolio. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, the role bridges finance, procurement, and award administration, ensuring compliance and efficient financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Principal Investigators with proposal budget preparation and submission through Kuali Research.
• Coordinate pre‑award and post‑award activities, including subaward setup, expense tracking, and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain communication with sponsors, university offices, and vendors to resolve financial and contractual questions.
• Support invoicing, financial reporting, and award closeout in partnership with Sponsored Programs Accounting.
• Organize and preserve documentation for all sponsored project transactions and approvals.
