Controller – Finance Leader for Fast‑Growing Robotics Company

About the role

The Controller will handle high‑level and managerial accounting while overseeing all financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller manages payroll, tax compliance and other core functions, reporting directly to the CFO. This position is based on‑site in the Venice office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting functions including billing, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, AP/AR, budgeting, tax compliance and revenue recognition.
• Maintain documented accounting policies and internal control procedures.
• Oversee payments of debts, bank loans and large disbursements, ensuring timely processing.
• Prepare and organize monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports.
• Advise senior management on financial analyses, capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations and benchmark comparisons.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Lead, train and mentor accounting staff across all entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably as a controller or assistant controller.
• CPA license strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to work with senior executives and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GSuite and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Netsuite or similar accounting software and software implementation.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting and budgeting principles.
• Advanced financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
• Expertise in payroll processing and tax compliance.
