Construction Superintendent

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial projects in the Washington, DC area. The role oversees all on‑site activities, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and compliance with federal and mission‑critical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all on‑site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
• Supervise subcontractors, field staff, and vendors to maintain efficient workflow.
• Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Conduct regular site inspections, enforce quality standards, and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and maintain a zero‑incident culture.
• Serve as the primary field point of contact for owners, engineers, and project management, handling RFIs, field changes, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate labor, material, and equipment deliveries, monitor productivity, and optimize site logistics.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Proven experience with federal/government projects, mission‑critical facilities, or highly technical commercial builds.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
