Construction Laborer – Highway & Roadway Projects

About the role

FNF Construction, Inc. is seeking a reliable Laborer to support highway and roadway construction and demolition projects across the Southwest United States. You will work alongside journeyman tradespeople, handling site preparation, earthwork, and material handling on a variety of construction crews.

Key responsibilities

• Assist journeyman trades with highway and roadway construction and demolition tasks.
• Perform site preparation, trenching, earthwork, and debris removal.
• Carry materials up to 60 lb, climb ladders and scaffolding, and operate hand‑held equipment such as jackhammers and earth tampers.
• Support asphalt paving, concrete placement, form fabrication, and traffic‑control setup.
• Travel frequently to different project sites and work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and follow traffic‑control plans and safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with drivers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Dependability, punctuality, and willingness to work high‑risk environments safely.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Proficiency with power tools.
• Experience operating a jackhammer.
• Experience using an earth tamper.
