Construction Estimator – NYC Public Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator with deep knowledge of New York City and State public‑sector construction bidding. The successful candidate will manage the full estimating lifecycle, from evaluating bid opportunities to preparing competitive bid packages and supporting final submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Review public construction bid opportunities and conduct Go/No‑Go analyses.
• Prepare standardized Bid Opportunity Summaries covering agency background, bonding, licensing, schedule, and compliance requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, overhead, and profit.
• Assemble complete bid submission packages that meet agency requirements and deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, solicit competitive quotations, and keep a pricing database up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of construction estimating experience, preferably with public‑sector projects in NYC or NY State.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate subcontractor proposals for completeness, compliance, and competitiveness.
