Construction Engineer II – Temporary Works

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Construction Engineer II to focus on Temporary Works for large‑scale civil transportation projects. The role involves delivering engineering calculations, constructability reviews and technical solutions to support safe and efficient construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare calculations and drawings for temporary works such as formwork, falsework, girder erection and shoring.
• Conduct constructability reviews and develop means and methods to address design challenges.
• Resolve technical engineering problems and coordinate field implementation of solutions.
• Review design drawings and specifications for potential constructability issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain high‑level quality assurance and assist construction personnel with technical details.
• Collaborate with construction management to mitigate environmental and safety hazards.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in engineering or a construction‑related field.
• 5+ years of experience on large, complex heavy civil transportation projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, rail).
• Registered Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain licensure).
• Strong knowledge of engineering and construction processes and practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and related engineering software.
• Willingness to travel or relocate to construction sites as needed.
