Construction Contracts Manager – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Contracts Manager to join a leading MEP construction firm’s legal department. The role can be performed remotely with occasional travel to Dulles, VA for on‑site meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–5 Contract Specialists supporting high‑volume construction projects across multiple business units.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex agreements such as MSAs, subcontracts, and vendor contracts, managing risk, timelines, and profitability.
• Standardize contract review processes into a unified company model to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce exposure.
• Partner with operations, legal, and executive leadership to align risk‑transfer strategies (indemnity, insurance, limitation of liability).
• Implement and improve contract management tools in collaboration with IT to increase workflow visibility and turnaround time.
• Establish policies, templates, and a centralized contract library to ensure consistency across projects.
• Provide leadership with real‑time insights on contractual risk, market shifts, and project‑level exposure.
• Develop training programs that raise contract awareness among project managers and business leaders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in the construction industry, preferably with MEP projects.
• Proven ability to manage a small team of contract professionals.
• Strong understanding of contract drafting, review, negotiation, and risk mitigation.
• Comfortable working remotely while attending occasional on‑site meetings in Dulles, VA.
• High‑visibility experience with executive exposure and enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives.
