Concessions Stand Lead - The Mann Center

About the role

The Concessions Stand Lead is responsible for the complete operation of assigned concession stands at The Mann Center in Philadelphia. The lead trains personnel, supervises and directs the work activities of others, and reports directly to the Concessions Supervisor of the stand. All transactions must be completed in accordance with Pennsylvania's RAMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate stand workers, assigning duties within the stand
• Analyze and resolve problems with the help of the Concession Supervisor and/or other management
• Oversee and/or take part in stand set-up and closing procedures
• Keep work stations, the back of the stand and storerooms clean and well stocked, ordering replacement stock as needed
• Complete required paperwork accurately and efficiently
• Investigate discrepancies in money and inventory
• On an event basis, check the accuracy of location bank, opening and closing inventory, product transfers, spoilage and meals
• Check transaction totals randomly for all cashiers
• Maintain a good appearance of the concession location and, at closing, help clean equipment and organize stock for the next event
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required profile

• At least 18 years old
• Prior experience as a stand attendant or other food service worker
• Ability to work fluently in English
• Ability to work in an open-air environment in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds, up and down stairs or ramps
• Ability to work all venue events, including extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays
• Sufficient mobility for constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing and pulling
• Meets state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services

Required skills

• RAMP certification (can be provided by the employer upon hiring if necessary)
• Ability to handle cash and inventory efficiently and to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
• Ability to interact with co-workers to ensure compliance with service standards
