Concession Stand Worker - The Mann Center

About the role

The Concession Stand Worker provides customer service at The Mann Center in Philadelphia, preparing and serving a variety of menu items, selling items, collecting payment and giving correct change. All transactions must follow Pennsylvania's RAMP standards. Workers report directly to the Concession Stand Manager of their assigned stand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare simple menu items and serve food and beverage orders quickly in proper portions with a courteous manner.
• Sell items, collect payment and make correct change; enter all sales accurately into the cash register.
• Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and suggestively sell and upsell items.
• Clean up, store products, remove trash and garbage to the dumpster, and keep the work area clean, neat and safe.
• Verify ID on customers ordering alcohol.
• Work with co-workers to comply with service standards, inventory and cash control procedures.
• Perform arithmetic with U.S. currency and work all stadium events, including extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old and fluent in English.
• Able to work in an open-air environment in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift and carry 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds, up and down stairs or ramps.
• Sufficient mobility for constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing and pulling.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Meets state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage service.

Required skills

• RAMP certification (can be provided by the employer after hiring).
• Basic arithmetic with U.S. currency.
