About the role

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing complex, high‑impact procurement processes, ensuring the timely supply of critical goods and services, acting as a strategic partner to the business, mitigating supply risks, and supporting short‑term financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end complex and high‑value purchases aligned with operational priorities, timelines and budgets.
• Lead tenders, commercial analyses and negotiations with suppliers to optimise cost, service levels and contractual terms.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Procurement and user areas, providing data‑driven recommendations for decision‑making.
• Identify, assess and mitigate supply‑chain risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor critical purchase orders, guarantee document traceability and drive continuous improvements in procurement processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in mining, large‑scale industrial or engineering environments.
• Proven experience handling complex, critical or high‑value purchases.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards, and of sourcing, logistics and supply‑risk management.
• Advanced English proficiency and solid Microsoft Excel skills.
• Demonstrated negotiation ability and stakeholder management.
