Composite Fabricator – Boat Builder

About the role

Seasats is scaling production of unmanned surface vessels and needs a skilled Composite Fabricator to build the structural assemblies of boats that operate for months at sea. The role focuses on bonding hulls, decks, bulkheads and other components using epoxy and structural adhesives while meeting strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Bond composite hulls, decks, bulkheads and structural components with epoxy and structural adhesives.
• Prepare bonding surfaces through sanding, cleaning, abrasion and other techniques.
• Install inserts, brackets, mounting plates and threaded inserts into composite structures.
• Read engineering drawings, assembly instructions and work orders to build accurate assemblies.
• Use fixtures and jigs to ensure proper alignment and repeatability.
• Trim, drill, fit and finish composite parts to meet design requirements.
• Inspect bonded assemblies for quality, fit, alignment and workmanship before hand‑off.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability and refine processes.

• Hands‑on worker with a keen eye for detail and strong workmanship standards.
• Team player who communicates clearly, keeps time, and follows safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and continuously improve manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pneumatic tools, drills, grinders and measuring equipment.
• Experience using hand and power tools for sanding, cleaning and surface preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Knowledge of epoxy and structural adhesive bonding techniques.
