Compliance Operations Lead

About the role

GovSignals is seeking a Compliance Operations Lead to own and scale its security and compliance function. Reporting directly to the founding team, you will shape the end‑to‑end compliance posture, automate evidence collection, and serve as the trusted face of the company with customers and auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain a master compliance program covering FedRAMP High, IL5, CMMC Level 2, SOC 2 and related frameworks.
• Drive the FedRAMP High Authority‑to‑Operate (ATO) roadmap, coordinating with 3PAOs, agency sponsors and continuous monitoring processes.
• Automate policy checks, control evidence capture and continuous monitoring tooling to ensure audit readiness daily.
• Lead quarterly and annual security documentation cycles and manage evidence lifecycle.
• Partner with engineering to embed compliance into CI/CD pipelines and treat security reviews as sales assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and operating compliance programs in government‑contracting or highly regulated environments.
• Hands‑on mindset with a track record of automating compliance processes.
• Ability to own end‑to‑end compliance outcomes and respond quickly to auditor findings.
• Strong communication skills to represent the company with customers, auditors and internal stakeholders.
