Community Supervision Officer I

About the role

Join the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) in Georgia as a Community Supervision Officer I. You will work in the DeKalb Circuit, providing supervision, coaching, and support to individuals on parole or probation while contributing to public safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, develop case plans, and monitor compliance with parole and probation conditions.
• Conduct community surveillance, investigate violations, and enforce supervision requirements.
• Perform background checks, DNA testing, drug testing, fingerprinting, and maintain accurate case files.
• Connect clients with community resources, make referrals, and provide recommendations for successful outcomes.
• Wear a uniform, badge, and department‑issued firearm while representing DCS.

Required profile

• Commitment to public safety and the mission of the criminal‑justice system.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work a flexible hybrid schedule, combining virtual and in‑person duties.
• Eligibility to obtain and carry a law‑enforcement firearm.

Required skills

• Case management and investigative techniques.
• Knowledge of parole and probation regulations.
• Proficiency in conducting background, DNA, drug, and fingerprint screenings.
