Community Engagement Manager – Data Centers (Texas)

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to serve as the on‑the‑ground presence for its data center projects in Texas. You will act as the trusted bridge between Anthropic’s policy and infrastructure teams and the local communities, officials, and partners throughout site selection, construction, and long‑term operation.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with elected officials, government agencies, economic development groups, community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce partners in the data‑center markets you cover.
• Develop and execute a community‑engagement strategy for each market, covering site selection, pre‑development, construction, and ongoing operations.
• Host education and listening sessions, create local solutions, and assemble external coalitions that deliver tangible benefits to nearby communities.
• Represent Anthropic at public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media.
• Monitor community sentiment and political dynamics, advising internal teams on risks, opportunities, and appropriate engagement pace.
• Partner with Real Estate and Infrastructure teams to integrate community input into project planning, communication, and delivery.
• Travel regularly within the region (up to 50% of the time) and occasionally to other Anthropic data‑center locations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement, public policy, or related stakeholder‑relationship roles.
• Strong ability to travel up to 50% of the time within Texas and to other sites as needed.
• Excellent communication skills for translating technical plans into clear local benefits.
• Capacity to anticipate concerns, build coalitions, and act as a visible, trusted neighbor.
