Community Development Specialist – Grants Management

About the role

Artheon, a trusted engineering and consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Grants Specialist to join its Planning and Community Development Department. The role supports municipal clients by writing and administering a broad range of local, state, and federal grants.

Key responsibilities

• Research and monitor external grant opportunities.
• Write and develop grant applications.
• Communicate grant opportunities and requirements to municipal clients.
• Maintain a grant tracking system.
• Coordinate with agencies and internal departments on grant submissions.
• Prepare reimbursement documentation and manage grant reporting.
• Study program and funding requirements to ensure compliance.
• Administer grants and loans, performing related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Community, Regional or Urban Planning, accounting, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience coordinating grant activities, including applications, management, and fiscal reporting.
• Excellent technical writing and strong communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet critical deadlines, and handle high‑stress periods.
• Experience with grant programs such as CDBG, USDA, EFC, HOME, LWRP, WQIP, and ESD is preferred.
