Community Assistant – Student Living

About the role

The Community Assistant supports the property management team in achieving occupancy and retention goals through administrative, leasing, marketing, and customer‑service tasks at the Union on 24th student‑living community.

Key responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks for the leasing office such as copying documents, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling resident calls, and organizing rent payments.
• Assist sales and leasing activities by conducting virtual tours, responding to online inquiries, greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting property tours, and showing apartments.
• Generate lease paperwork, organize resident lease files, and support the lease preparation process.
• Coordinate move‑in and move‑out processes, including mandatory work dates and “turn” periods.
• Answer incoming calls, set appointments for prospects, and conduct on‑campus marketing outreach to generate community awareness.
• Help plan and execute resident functions such as parties, birthday cards, unit visits, and other programs to boost resident satisfaction.
• Distribute notices, flyers, newsletters, resident surveys, and late notices, and schedule resident visits as directed.
• Serve as an after‑hours liaison, responding to emergencies and taking on‑call shifts as required.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident concerns, taking action to resolve issues or forward requests to the appropriate staff.
