About the role
The Communications Specialist II creates news features that showcase faculty, students, and research on the Texas A&M Engineering News site. Working under general supervision, the role supports storytelling across print, multimedia, social, online, and media channels.
Key responsibilities
- Research, interview, and write press releases and feature articles highlighting engineering achievements.
- Collaborate with multimedia, social media, and design teams to develop content packages that accompany stories.
- Proactively manage tasks and meet editorial deadlines.
- Assist the content strategy team with content review and creation as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of related communications or journalism experience.
- Master’s degree in journalism, communications, or science and technology journalism is a plus.
