Communications Assistant – Humanities (Work‑Study)

About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s workforce as a Communications Assistant in the Humanities Department, supporting the creation of instructional workbooks for Chattahoochee Technical College. This is a work‑study position for eligible Chatt Tech students, based on the Marietta campus, with a $12/hour hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

• Create and format visual elements such as graphics, icons, diagrams, and design components for instructional workbooks.
• Design and maintain consistent page layouts, typography, visual hierarchy, and branding across workbook sections.
• Assist in formatting instructional content, tables, callout boxes, headings, and other elements to ensure readability and accessibility.
• Collaborate with faculty authors to translate instructional concepts into effective visual designs.
• Develop and modify design templates to support consistency across chapters and sections, preparing materials for both digital and print use.

Required profile

• Basic computer skills and ability to work well with others, with strong organizational and filing abilities.
• Must be a Chattahoochee Technical College student who has completed the FAFSA, meets financial need, is enrolled for the semester, maintains good academic standing, and is eligible to work as a federal work‑study employee.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible non‑citizen and must pass a mandatory background check.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $12.00.
• Work‑study schedule limited to a maximum of 19 hours per week; no additional benefits are provided.
• Direct deposit payment unless a hardship exemption is granted.
